02-13-07 Mayor James R. Miron recogized Sen. Gunther on his retirement and thanked him for his 40 years of service to the community. State Senator George "Doc" Gunther is the longest-serving state legislator in Connecticut history. Senator Gunther represented the 21st Senate District includidng Shelton, and parts of Stratford, Monroe and Seymour, from 1966 - 2006.
