Mayor James R. Miron, Stratford Youth and Family Advisory Board, Stratford Clergy Association and Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport to Host a Community Action Forum

Stratford, Conn. (April 30, 2007) - Mayor James R. Miron announced today that the Town of Stratford, in cooperation with the Stratford Youth and Family Advisory Board, Stratford Clergy Association and Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport will host a Community Action Forum on Race as a result of The Community Conversation on Race held in December and the Bridge Building Discussion Series. It will be held on May 15, 2007 at 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s of Stratford, 1300 Stratford Road, Stratford.

The Community Action Forum on Race will highlight themes and priorities that have emerged, organize people into action teams, recognize participants for this effort and meet others who share their vision, inform community leaders about themes and priorities, and announce future plans.

“Nearly 100 Stratford residents participated in a Community Conversation on Race as the first step in finding toward finding ways to work together to build a stronger Stratford,” said Mayor Miron. “I am eager to build upon these preliminary conversations as a way to move our community forward.”
