| PROCLAMATION WHEREAS the Stratford Emergency Medical Service was dispatched to its first call in December of 1977; and
WHEREAS the Stratford Emergency Medical Service has been a pioneer in the field of providing emergency medical service and has been recognized both locally and nationally for its many accomplishments; and
WHEREAS; the Stratford Emergency Medical Service was the first Connecticut volunteer EMS to provide advanced life support, establish the first Connecticut EMS special operations team, establish the first national EMS bike team and establish the first Connecticut volunteer EMS paramedic service; and
WHEREAS; the Stratford Emergency Medical Service initiated the use of Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs), established the EMS explorer program, trained all EMS personnel in the administration of Epinephrine, implemented emergency medical dispatch and utilizes Hybrid EMS response vehicles; and
WHEREAS the Stratford Emergency Medical Service was recognized in 2005 as the National Emergency Medical Service of the Year and in 2007 received the Governor’s EMS Organization Achievement Award; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, congratulate and thank all of the men and women who have provided 30 years of service to the Stratford Emergency Medical Service.
