| PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, with its Auxiliaries, includes 2.3 million members in approximately 8,400 Posts worldwide; and
WHEREAS, The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, with its Auxiliaries, works to "honor the dead by helping the living" through veterans' service, community service, national security and a strong national defense; and
WHEREAS, The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Post 9460 lives this mission through its education and community outreach programs, scholarship programs, fundraising events, USO shows to benefit Connecticut’s veteran’s hospitals, grave memorials and ceremonies commemorating Memorial Day, September 11th and Veteran’s Day; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, in recognition of Veteran’s Day, thank the men and women of the VFW Post 9460 for their service to our country while in uniform and for their continued service to the Stratford community.
