PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, The Art of Living Foundation, founded by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, is celebrating 25 years of service and has touched more than 300 million people world wide throughout the past 25 years; and

WHEREAS, The Art of Living Foundation is active in over 140 countries and is committed to serving society by strengthening the individual through programs that eliminate stress, create a sense of belonging, restore human values and encourage people from all backgrounds, religions and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service; and

WHEREAS, The Art of Living Foundation has special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations; and

WHEREAS, The Art of Living Foundation is committed to improving the quality of life in Stratford through personal development and service programs; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby proclaim Wednesday, March 28, 2007 as the National Silver Jubilee of the Art of Living Foundation Day in the Town of Stratford and urge all residents to recognize this special celebration.
