PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church, part of the Polish National Catholic Church, celebrated its centenary on February 18, 2007; and
WHEREAS, St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church currently serves 300 parish members from 20 town in Connecticut; and
WHEREAS, St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church was organized in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1907 by a group of Polish Catholic immigrants, moved to Stratford, Connecticut in 1989 and built a new church complex on land owned by the Church since 1907; and
WHEREAS, St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church is based on traditional Apostolic and Catholic teachings with American democracy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, congratulate St. Joseph’s of Stratford National Catholic Church on celebrating its centenary and wish the parish another 100 years of continued success.
