PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Stratford Blue Heat was founded by Stratford Police Officer, Sportscaster and Community Leader Bobby Ramos; and

WHEREAS, Stratford Blue Heat’s mission is to broaden positive learning experiences of our youth and to build positive self-esteem through structured educational and recreational programs; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Stratford commends Tavon Givens-Hunter, Ian Hunter, Michael Lynch, Juan McFadden, Trent Meekins, Mason Moyer, Javon Robinson, Laker Smith, Antonio Soares, Josh Taylor and Ryan Yearwood for being part of the Blue Heat; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Stratford thanks Bobby Ramos, Ed Yearwood and James Lofton for their dedication and commitment to the youth of our community; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Stratford extends deep appreciation to the Blue Heat’s sponsors - City Line Garage, Connecticut Mustang of Bridgeport, Sal Recupido & Family, Ruby’s II, Stratford News and Teamsters Local 1150 for making the Blue Heat’s trip to the Muhammad Ali Center possible; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby proclaim Monday, April 9, 2007 as Blue Heat Basketball Day in the Town of Stratford.
