PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Pastor William B. Sutton, III, Associate Ministries, Officers and the entire membership are celebrating the 130th anniversary of the First Baptist Church of Stratford on April 21, 2007; and

WHEREAS, this 130th anniversary celebrates the First Baptist Church of Stratford’s rich history, dedication to public service and remarkable contributions to the entire Stratford community; and

WHEREAS, the First Baptist Church of Stratford, led by Pastor William B. Sutton, III, is the oldest Black Church in Fairfield County and has been led by only 16 ministers in its 130 year history; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, proclaim Saturday, April 21st as First Baptist Church of Stratford Day and congratulate the First Baptist Church of Stratford Family on celebrating its 130th anniversary with every best wish for continued success.
