PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, The Stratford High School Cheerleading Squad placed second at the “Best Cheerleading Competition” in Danbury in March. That performance qualified them for the National Championships in Puerto Rico; and
WHEREAS, The Stratford High School Cheerleading Squad finished third in the “Compete for the Cure” event held at Torrington High School; and
WHEREAS, The Stratford High School Cheerleading Squad is led by first-year coach Samantha Gay; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Stratford High School Cheerleading Squad are to be commended for not only their athletic accomplishments but for their exemplary sportsmanship.
THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby declare Thursday, June 21, 2007 as the Stratford High School Cheerleading Squad Day in the Town of Stratford and ask all townspeople to congratulate the team members and coach Samantha Gay.
