CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION

WHEREAS, the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters 24^th Annual Memorial Service, hosted by the Town of Stratford, was held on June 5, 2007; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters 24^th Annual Memorial Service remembers those who have courageously served the public and made the supreme sacrifice; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters 24^th Annual Memorial Service honored the memory of Michael C. Reilly, a Stratford Firefighter from 2003-2006 and an Iraq War Veteran, who became a New York City Firefighter and was killed in the line of duty just weeks after graduating from the New York Fire Academy; and

WHEREAS, the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters 24^th Annual Memorial Service could not have come to pass without the dedication and support of the members of the Stratford Fire Department and the many other event volunteers; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, recognize and thank you, Ellen Howley, Assistant Chief of the Stratford Fire Department for your leadership and dedication the Bridgeport Area Retired Firefighters 24^th Annual Memorial Service. You continue to make our community proud.
