PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, John V. Carroll, Director of Public Works, has announced his retirement after thirty years of service to the Town of Stratford; and

WHEREAS, John V. Carroll began his career with the Town of Stratford on November 7, 1977 as a Maintenance Repairman IV – Building Maintenance Division; and

WHEREAS, John V. Carroll was then promoted to Electrical Inspector, Assistant Building Official, Building Official, Building Maintenance Superintendent and Director of Public Works during his thirty year tenure; and

WHEREAS, John V. Carroll withdrew his retirement paperwork and changed his life plans, at my personal request, to serve as the Director of Public Works under the Town’s new Mayor form of government; and

WHEREAS, John V. Carroll has not only become a key member of this administration, but a true leader, confidant and someone I am proud to call a friend; and

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor, do hereby proclaim July 19, 2007 as John V. Carroll Day in the Town of Stratford and I ask all members of the community join me in thanking him for his exemplary service and in wishing him much happiness and health throughout his retirement.
