PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, PONY Baseball is designed to “Protect Our Nation’s Youth” by providing experiences in youth baseball that will help young people grow into healthier and happier adults; and

WHEREAS, The PONY Bronco World Series was held at Jack’s Park in beautiful Monterey, California. The team played it’s heart out even through loses to Chinese Taipei and Lafayette, Indiana; and

WHEREAS, The Stratford PONY Bronco American All-Star Team came back in their final game and defeated Pacific Grove, California to finish 5^th place in the PONY Bronco World Series; and

WHEREAS, The Stratford PONY Bronco American All-Star Team is the FIRST Stratford PONY Bronco All-Star Team to advance to a PONY Bronco World Series in it’s 49 year history; and

WHEREAS, The Stratford PONY Bronco American All-Star Team’s run was an experience that the players, coaches and families will cherish for a lifetime. They embodied the team concept and supported each other on and off the field; and

WHEREAS the players are one of the finest groups of young men to ever participate in the Stratford PONY Bronco league.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, James R. Miron, Mayor of the Town of Stratford proclaim September 10, 2007 as Stratford PONY Bronco American All-Star Team Day in the Town of Stratford.
