Raymark Waste and Contaminants of Concern

What is Raymark Waste?

Raymark waste is a specific combination or "fingerprint" of chemical substances used to identify contamination in soil that came from Raymark Industries.  Raymark waste is made up of asbestos, lead, and either copper or polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).  These chemical substances have been found in soils at all areas investigated by EPA where fill from Raymark was deposited.

What are Contaminants of Concern?

EPA has identified Contaminants of Concern (COCs) for the Raymark site.  COCs are the chemical substances found at the site that the EPA has determined pose an unacceptable risk to human health or the environment.
