Register for all programs online at https://townofstratford.recdesk.com/Community/Home or in person at 468 Birdseye Street Stratford, CT.

All registrations will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until the maximum registration is reached.  To be sure of a place in the program early registration is suggested. The Recreation Department does not call to confirm registration.  We will email if the program does not run.  In some cases, late registration will be accepted if space is still available; however, program fees are not pro-rated.  Persons registering late must pay the full registration fee.  There is a $5 non-resident fee for classes that accept non-residents.  The Department reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change classes. Telephone registration is not accepted.

Programs Open to Everyone

Any individual with a disability is welcome to enjoy the programs offered by the Recreation Department.  Anyone who needs special assistance to participate in the programs should contact the Recreation Office.

Scholarships & Discounts

Senior Citizen Discount for those 62 and older is 50% for most programs.  Scholarships are available for some programs.  Just complete the application at the Recreation Department office at Birdseye Complex.  Please submit your most current income tax return form.  For all other programs, forms must be received at least 4 weeks before the program.  Family rates for multiple classes, and second and third child discounts are also available for some programs.  Discount rates are for siblings in the same family.

Medical Insurance

The Town of Stratford is self insured and has liability insurance but does not carry accident insurance for participants.  Personal health and accident insurance is recommended.  All participants must sign the Waiver form before participating in our programs.  For those under the age of 18 a parental signature is required.  Please make the staff aware of any allergies or medical conditions at registration.

Photo Policy

Any photographs taken of any participants of the Stratford Recreation Department programs or activities may be used for publications or advertising materials such as brochures and flyers.  Any participant not wishing to have a photograph of them must inform the Recreation Department at registration.

Cancellation Policy

A decision on evening program cancellations will be made at 5:00 pm.  Listen to WICC, WTNH, News 12, website and social media or call the Recreation Department 385-4129 after 4:30 pm or go to www.quickscores.com/stratford for a listing of all league cancellations.  Flood Pool will be cancelled during thunderstorms for 45 minutes after the last sound of thunder.  Programs may be cancelled if the minimum class requirement is not met.  Refunds in full will be made for these programs. 

When Town Hall closes at 3pm for weather events or major holiday early release, programs will also be canceled in the same time frame.

Refund Policy

The Recreation Department will refund money only when:

1. The department cancels the class

2. A medical excuse is obtained
   
   All other refunds will be pro rated less a $10 administrative fee will be charged per program. Refunds will be received approximately 2 weeks after notification.

Cancelled Checks

Returned checks will be charged a $15 fee.  Payment must be made within 3 days of notification by cash, money order or credit card.
