ASA Womens' Fastpitch - The Town of Stratford, Stratford Brakettes and Stratford Softball Tournaments Inc. (SSTI) are proud and excited to host Team USA as they travel the country before defending their gold medal in Beijing China at the Summer Olympic Games.
The Boothe Memorial Astronomical Society was formed by a local group of professional and amateur astronomers in 1953, and its members have been studying our skies and educating people in the greater Bridgeport area for the past 50 years.
Boothe Memorial Park - Boothe Memorial Park & Museum sits on an idyllic, 32 acre site in the north end of Stratford by the Housatonic River, which was the estate of the Boothe family for many generations and willed to the town in 1949 for the public to enjoy.
The park is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. There are many architecturally unique buildings and attractions on the grounds as well as a new, handicapped accessible playground. The park is open and free of charge year round and is the home to various volunteer clubs and organizations. Sites at the park are available to rent for group functions. Tours of the historic buildings are seasonal (May - October) and guided tours for school groups can be arranged.
Boothe Memorial Railway Society - The Boothe Memorial Railway Society is located in its own building at the Boothe Memorial Park & Museum.

We are a non-profit model railroad club devoted to promoting an interest in model trains and railroad history. We operate model railroad layouts in four scales: O-Scale, HO-Scale, and N-Scale, and an upper level around-the-wall G-Scale layout. We also have cabinet displays of model and full-scale railroad memorabilia.
Connecticut Air & Space Center - Our first event was Corsairs Over Connecticut. That took place on 03 to 05 June 2005 at Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Stratford, Connecticut where thousands of Corsairs rolled out of the factory, across Main Street, and on to the tarmac of the airport for their first flight.
CRRA Garbage Museum - In 1973 the Connecticut Resources Recovery Authority was created to develop economically sound, environmentally responsible solutions for managing the state’s solid waste. Here at crra.org you’ll learn about how we’re meeting that challenge.
Golfing - The Golf Course will open depending on the weather conditions, please call ahead for information at (203) 381-2070.
The Golf Course will open January - March depending on the weather conditions from 10:00am-2pm. Please call ahead for information. In April, the course will be open 8:00am-6:00pm daily. Hours will expand to 7:00am-7:30pm daylight permitting. No one under the age of ten is allowed to play the course unless they have completed the Junior Golf Lesson Program. Any golfer 9-12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All players must have their own clubs and bags.
Golf ID’s are required for resident fees. Pull carts and clubs are available to rent.
The Judson House - Built circa 1750 by Capt. David Judson on the site of his great-grandfather's 1639 stone house, Judson House is a fine example of Georgian achitecture with its impressive broken scroll pediment entry. It is furnished with period pieces of Stratford origin. The beautiful paneled "west roome" contains an early piano which belonged to William Samuel Johnson, framer of the U.S. Constitution, and the second president of Columbia University. Merritt Parkway Museum - On October 22, 2006 the Conservancy officially opened the doors to a lobby museum dedicated to the Merritt Parkway. MPC's Guide is mounted on a wall in a 10 foot long version highlighting attractions and points of interest along the Parkway. The museum is located in Ryder's Landing Shopping Center, 6580 Main Street, a five minute walk from the new pedestrian and bike path under the Sikorsky Memorial Bridge in Stratford (exit 53).
National Helicopter Museum - The Museum contains hundreds of photographs and models tracing the history of the helicopter both in the United States and around the world. An airport and seaplane base built in Stratford in the 1920's brought Igor Sikorsky to the area to build his flying boats. Then Sikorsky flew his US300 Helicopter in September 1939 in Stratford and produced many helicopters and rotary wing aircraft from that time. Stratford is the birthplace of the American helicopter industry.
The Perry House - The Perry House is not an ordinary house. It certainly has significance for its history and its architecture, and it is a place where history can be understood. But, it is also a place to enjoy and a place where fond memories can be created. Roosevelt Forest - Roosevelt Forest is the only town-owned forest in Connecticut. Roosevelt Forest is comprised of approximately 250 acres and is located in the northern section of Stratford abutting Shelton.
Short Beach - Short Beach Park is a 30 acre beachfront property located at the mouth of the Housatonic River and Long Island Sound. It provides a beautiful view of the colorful sail boats as they leave and return to shore in the evening hours.
The Park has a Par 3 Golf Course, Handicap Accessible Playground, 2 Little League Fields, 1 Regulation lighted softball field, 7 beach volleyball courts, 8 tennis courts, skateboard park, 2 basketball courts, 3 picnic areas with bathrooms, a soccer field, a lacrosse field, 1000 feet of beachfront with concession stand, bathrooms and new deck.
Beach Stickers are required or a $20 parking fee will be charged at the park entrance. Residents receive beach stickers in their tax bills the end of June. Non residents may purchase seasonal passes at the Recreation Office for $100. Recreation office hours are 8:00 – 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from May through the end of September from 9:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Square One - The Square One Theatre Company, a nonprofit theatre, was founded in 1990 by Executive Producer Barbara Cairney and Artistic Director Tom Holehan. Employed by the Stratford Library, Holehan had begun a theatre program of staged readings there in 1985. With Mrs. Cairney, they recognized an opportunity to create a new professional theatre in Stratford when the town’s old movie house was bought and renovated as a legitimate theatre by the Scottish Rite Building Corporation. Following negotiations with the new owners, a Square One Theatre staff was assembled.
Sterling House - Sterling House is a multi-service community center located in the heart of Stratford, Connecticut. Since its opening, Sterling House has been a mecca for young and old. It is dedicated to serving all ages from the toddler to the senior adult, and provides affordable social, educational and recreational activities which assist them in their positive and healthy development.
