Bond's Dock & Fishing Pier
Bond's Dock & Fishing Pier
Bond's Dock is located on Shore Road, north of Mac's harbor, which was the original landing site of the Puritan settlers of Stratford. The dock was named for John Bond, who had a boxer's training quarter here, where such famous boxers as Jack Johnson and John L. Sullivan fought. Bond's Dock serves a number of types of recreation, including fishing, boat launching (car top), and, also, a scenic overlook/gathering place. Many types of fish are available year round, but positioning on the dock can be critical to success due to the strong currents and constant boat traffic.
